Frequently asked questions
A-Math is a big step up from E-Math because it introduces calculus and abstract reasoning. That is exactly why small-group teaching helps — we break each concept into clear steps and build confidence with guided practice before exam-style questions.
A-Math is strongly recommended if you intend to take H2 Mathematics in JC, because H2 assumes A-Math's calculus and algebra. A solid A-Math grade makes the JC transition far smoother.
Most students who take A-Math also take E-Math. We run dedicated classes for each so the fundamentals (E-Math) and the advanced topics (A-Math) both get proper attention.
From 2027 A-Math becomes G3 Additional Mathematics under the Singapore-Cambridge SEC. The content and difficulty are unchanged, so our teaching and materials apply to both O-Level and SEC students. Which one your child sits depends on when they started secondary school: students who entered Secondary 1 in 2023 or earlier sit the O-Level, and students who entered in 2024 — currently Secondary 3 — are the first cohort to sit the SEC, in 2027. What changes is the certificate and how the levels are named.
Within secondary, yes — an S1 and an S4 may be in the same room. It works because the teacher isn't delivering one lesson to the class: they move between students, and each child works on material matched to their own level. Primary and secondary classes are always separate.
